Introduction

Use this application if you have either a licensed fishing vessel administered by Marine Management Organisation, or a fishing vessel licensed to fish in UK waters administered by Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture in the Isle of Man and you need to report one or more of the following changes:

  • change of vessel name
  • change of vessel port, letter, number (PLN)
  • change of an owner address, email address or mobile phone number
  • change of a nominee name, address, email address, or mobile phone number
  • change of fishing gears as the type of gear stated in the licence no longer accurately reflects the vessel's activities

The application must be completed by one of the following:

  • the registered owner of the licensed vessel. If there is more than one owner, you will be applying on behalf of all owners and must have their permission
  • an authorised signatory
  • a person with power of attorney for the registered owner
  • if the applicant is a company, then the application can only be completed by a director and not by any manager, employee or agent of the company

To complete this application, you will need to have available:

  • the fishing vessel licence number
  • the details for the change you are reporting
  • an updated certificate of registry for changes to vessel name, PLN, or owner address.

Once we have all the information, we will process this application and issue a new fishing vessel licence. The update of the licence does not take effect until you receive confirmation from the MMO that it has been processed and you are issued with a new fishing vessel licence. In the meantime, if you continue to fish knowing that your licence is inaccurate then you may be committing an offence.

This number is shown on the licence you need to update.
