Purpose

Use this form to provide information about a completed collection project involving marine genetic resources of areas beyond national jurisdiction using a UK craft.

You must complete this form if you are the relevant person responsible for a collection project under the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Act 2026.

Submit the information as soon as it is available and before the end of 11 months after the last day on which marine genetic resources were collected from areas beyond national jurisdiction.

The UK BBNJ Focal Point will submit the information to the BBNJ Clearing-House Mechanism before the end of 12 months after the last day of collection.

Before you start

You may need:

• the cruise name or number
• the survey code, if one exists
• the survey name, if one exists
• the name of the relevant person
• the BBNJ standardised batch identifier, if one has been issued
• information about where any digital sequence information will be recorded
• information about where marine genetic resources will be deposited or held
• details of the collection area and any findings
• a post-cruise report, chart or other document describing the collection area and/or any findings from the activity
• any updates to the data management plan
• an updated data management plan document, if available

You have the option to upload:

• a post-cruise report
• a chart or map showing the collection area
• an updated data management plan

Having these documents ready before you start may make the form easier to complete.
