Request an internal review

Use this form to request an internal review of a response you have received under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act or the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) from the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

This form will take about 5 minutes to complete and will ask you for:

• Your name

• Your email address

• The reference number of the response you want us to review

• Why you are dissatisfied with our response

• Your specific concerns

Once you submit your request it will be reviewed by a caseworker who did not handle your original request. They will conduct an impartial and thorough examination of our initial response.

We aim to complete the internal review within 20 working days. If the review is complex or requires consultation with third parties, we may need additional time. In such cases, we will inform you of the revised timeline.

Once the review is complete, we will inform you of the outcome. If the original decision is upheld, we will provide a detailed explanation. If the decision is overturned, we will provide the requested information or explain any exemptions that apply.
