Contact the Office of Trade Sanctions Implementation (OTSI)

The Department for Business and Trade (DBT), through OTSI, is responsible for implementing a civil enforcement framework for certain trade sanctions.

OTSI is also the licensing body for the export of:

  • goods and technology not subject to strategic export controls and any associated ancillary services
  • standalone services (including professional and business services)

When to use this form

Do not use this contact form to submit whistleblowing disclosures or suspected trade sanctions breach reports.

You do not need to gather additional information before making a report. We welcome reports based on information already available to you, even if it is incomplete.

You can contact OTSI about a variety of sanctions topics. Before you submit a query, be aware that we cannot advise: 

  • whether specific export activities require a licence unless you submit a licence application
  • on the legal compliance of specific cases – the responsibility for sanctions compliance rests with the individuals and businesses involved
