About your complaint

You can complain to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) if you have not been able to settle matters directly with the motorcycle training school.

What you cannot complain to DVSA about

You cannot complain to DVSA:

  • to get a refund or because you had a problem with the school’s terms and conditions - get help from Citizens Advice (opens in new tab) instead
  • if the instructor refused to give you a CBT certificate because they assessed that you’re not ready to ride independently on the road

What you can complain to DVSA about

You can complain to DVSA if they were not satisfied with the standard or safety of the training you received.

This includes if the training school had too many learners per instructor. They’re allowed to have a maximum of:

  • 4 learners per instructor for on-site training
  • 2 learners per instructor for on-road training
